Mikko Salo, 2009 CrossFit GamesChampion - video [wmv] [mov]
"Our workouts are competitive events. The strength and value of CrossFit lies entirely within our dominance of other athletes. This is a truth divined through competition, not debate."
Going to the CrossFit Games this year was a pretty surreal experience. From seeing all of the CrossFit "stars" up front and personal, to witnessing the ultimate test of strength, endurance, stamina, flexibility, speed, power, agility, coordination, balance and accuracy. I truly believe that this years games winners are the fittest athletes in the world! The 8 events they did in two days were grueling tests of all of the above elements! It all just re-confirmed to me that this training program and this community is the best in the world and I hope to be a part of it for a long, long time.
The fittest people on earth...
The CrossFit Ames and Cali Crew "groupies"...
More pics to come soon when I upload them to a photo album!

The Chipper Final (with mods) 38:??
96# full squat cleans
15 chest-to-bar pullups and deep dips instead of muscleups
35# DB push presses
95# thrusters
25# plate for overhead walking lunges
the rest was rx'ed; During this WOD I was trying to imagine what it "felt" like to complete 6 tough WOD's over 2 days prior to this and then complete it RX'ed in 20 minutes - guess that's what being a champion feels like.
