******PROGRESS REPORTS******
Heath has cranked his intensity up to high gear and his hard work is paying off! He's going prescribed or close to prescribed on the WODS, is going belly to bar on pullups and is leaning out like crazy. He had a military PT test yesterday and texted me the results: "61 pushups 71 situps in two minutes each and 13:19 two mile run time. smoked it! second highest score!"
Yah, Heath!!! You are badass and we are proud to call you one of our own here at CrossFit Ames!!!
And happy 1 year CrossFit anniversary to Travis, our CrossFittin' friend from Storm Lake! Here's what he has to say about it:
"It has been one year since I started crossfit. I am now 35lbs lighter, look like an underwear model and can crack a walnut with my butt cheeks! Thanks Crossfit!!"
LOL, that's awesome Travis!!!
He adds:
"I would have to say the single most surprising thing for me has been the gains I made on my cleans this last year. I think I added 30lbs to my max which is more then I have made on my cleans ever, all while practicing them far less with less weight. There is an old kettlebell saying among kettlebell trainers called the "what the hell effect" about how you get better at things without really trying them. Sport specific strength training is a myth for the most part and it is something I have believed for a long time, long before I started crossfit. Too many people out there try to do things to really get at aspects of sport when really they need to sure up proper movement patterns and eliminate weaknesses. Get better at your sport by practicing your sport, strength training is for increasing your capacity to perform work in a safe efficient manner and reduce injury potential. period."
And Mike has some good news too:
"Back from the doctor. My blood pressure is the best it has been in a long time. :)
I am not going to have to take a 3rd medication like my doctor suggested in January, and have lost 23 pounds since my last visit. Maybe this CF stuff works????"
YAY Mike!!!
Keep the "testimonials" coming and I will post them on here!!! Everyone's making progress, whether it's weight loss, getting stronger, gaining endurance, feeling better and healthier, or most likely all of the above! I can see it in you all every day, but the numbers continue to amaze me! You are all awesome! CrossFit's awesome!
